The Victor D was introduced in 1903, and was soon transitioned to a
Victor V designation around 1906 when the tapered arm was first
used, but there was some overlap in production between the identical
Victor D and V models. Initially selling for $55.00, it featured a large
triple-spring motor, a standard brass horn, and deluxe cabinet. The
cabinet was made of oak, and was larger than the other models
available at the time. In later years (around 1909), the cabinet was
redesigned with less gingerbread carving. Approximately 21,000
Victor D's were produced, but this is only a rough estimate. A
combined total of approximately 70,000 Victor D and Victor V
machines were made during the 19 year model run.
